‘Shubh Yatra’ For Frequent Train Travellers

The Indian Railways has flagged off an initiative - Shubh Yatra - for those who travel frequently by trains. This scheme for frequent travellers has been launched through its subsidiary IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation Limited) in joint partnership with SBI Card.

The programme is applicable only for those who book tickets online at www.irctc.co.in, which subsequently entitles them to get back up to 10 per cent of their ticket fare as points on all AC class travel except 3AC depending on their date of travel. The points so accrued can then be used to purchase free railway tickets booked online.

IRCTC has also tied up with SBI Card to simultaneously launch the SBI Railway Card - India's first co-branded credit card of its kind for railway passengers - which allows users to earn free railway tickets, make flexible payments, and includes personal accident insurance, etc.
