Tourism Ireland Eyes India

Tourism Ireland is the latest entrant to capture the fast growing outbound market in India. Tourism Ireland will shortly be initiating a tourism promotion campaign, its first ever in the country, and has earmarked 2,000,000 euros for the same. The Irish tourism board will float packages as part of the promotional campaign, which will include four to five days coach tours.

In order to promote its packages in the country, Tourism Ireland has tied up with travel companies like Thomas Cook, Cox & Kings and 20 other agencies. It is looking at Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore as its key markets. Indian travellers will no longer have to obtain UK visas to visit Ireland as it now offers direct flights from Bahrain and Dubai into Dublin, which will enable visitors to access the country directly. Currently Ireland receives about 7,000 Indian visitors a year.
