Night Golf At Royal Palms
Royal
Palms Estates, which owns and operates an 18-hole Championship Golf Course in
Mumbai, has introduced the concept of night golf. Royal Palms Golf Course, about
20 minutes drive from the city's international airport is the first in the city
to offer night golf, a concept, which is common in the US and Europe.
Nine holes of the 110 acre golf course have been lit up with bright floodlights
and will be open to members and guests of the adjoining five-star hotel Park
Plaza Royal Palms. The nine-hole course stretching over 2.5 kilometers has been
lit up with special golfing floodlights every 20 metres on both sides. Apart
from members and hotel guests, outsiders can also avail of this facility at
an invitation price of Rs 1,100 per shift.
The move to introduce night golf facility is aimed at providing
more entertainment options for the increasing volume of business travellers
visiting the city. The Royal Palms 18-hole Championship Golf course is designed
by the renowned Phil Ryan from Pacific Coast Design, Australia and constructed
by L&M Fairways Pvt. Ltd. Singapore. The grass has been especially grafted
and imported from Malaysia and the golfing facilities are being supplemented
by a golf academy, a 24-bay driving range and practice facilities, touted as
the first of its kind in India.
