DSF 2006 - Winning Beyond Expectation

The 11th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will be held from January 4 - February 4, 2006 and the signature line of the festival this year is ‘Winning Beyond Expectation’ with Dh 100 million (Rs 125 crore) raffles on offer including luxury cars, gold, jewellery, diamonds and cash prizes. According to DSF Chief Operations Officer, Ibrahim Saleh, the shopping extravaganza this year will be an extra-special event, one that will be bigger and better than the previous year with loads of entertainment.

The DSF 2006 will kick off with an hour long opening ceremony complete with fireworks lighting up the sky from seven different locations. Shoppers can look forward to a real bonanza. Prizes up for grabs are gold (total of 32 kilos) worth Dh 13 million (Rs 16.18 crore), Lexus cars (42) worth over Dh 22.4 million (Rs 27.89 crores), Nissan Cars (32) worth Dh 3 million (Rs 3.73 crore), 32 carat of solitaire diamonds and millions of Dirhams in prize money. More than 2,000 retail outlets will be participating in DSF 2006, divided into four categories - DSF Offers, DSF Sales, DSF Discounts and DSF Raffles, and 25 of the top-of-the-range participating shopping malls in Dubai would be offering the best brands in the world. Another prime attraction of DSF 2006 will be the Dubai Night Souq at its permanent venue on Al Seef Street and will be held from 8.00 pm to 2.00 am Saturday to Tuesday and from 8.00 pm to 3.00 am Wednesday to Friday.
