Big Indian Delegation at Interpack 2005

Overseas business travel, especially for trade fairs has been growing rapidly in India for the past couple of years. One of India's largest delegation of 350 packaging industry experts to Interpack 2005 in Dusseldorf, Germany was organised by Orbit Tours and Trade Fairs Pvt. Ltd. The seven-day exhibition held in April 2005 attracted 2,763 exhibitors from 56 countries and 1,76,000 visitors from 106 countries.

It brought under one roof the latest innovations and developments in the world of packaging in all segments including paper, plastic, metals, foil, glass, wood, confectionery, bakery and ice cream industries. India, with 34 exhibitors, was among the countries with larger delegations along with USA, UK, China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. Prominent names in the Indian delegation included the likes of Hindustan Lever Ltd. Cipla, PAM Pharma, Multipack, ITC, Pidilite, Coats of India and Sun Pharma. Organisers of Interpack 2005, Messe Dusseldorf organised an exclusive reception for the Indian delegation and their executive director, Hans Werner stated that India had emerged as the most important market for packaging machinery technology.

He also stated that he was highly impressed by the quality of the machines displayed by the Indian exhibitors and lauded Om Prakash, director, Orbit Tours and Trade Fairs Pvt. Ltd. for the company's dedicated role for the past 30 years in promoting Dusseldorf fairs.
