Jetstar Asia Announces Its India Service To Kolkata

Jetstar Asia has announced that it is likely to commence services to Kolkata in March 2005. Though still in a developmental stage, the airline has evinced keen interest in the Indian subcontinent. Said an airline official,"We will be flying into Kolkata but the dates and prices are still under process.” Jetstar Asia is a partnership between Qantas (49 per cent); Tony Chew (22 per cent); FF Wong (10 per cent) and Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited (19 per cent). The airline also recently announced significant launch-period route structures servicing a combination of business, leisure and new markets. It will fly to Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taipei, Pattaya, Jakarta, Surabaya and Manila.
