Prado Drives Into India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has introduced its Landcruiser Prado equipped with a V6 engine. The 3956 cc, 24 valve SUV is available at all Toyota showrooms over the country and is priced at Rs. 35.8 lakh (ex-showroom) Mumbai and Rs 37.5 lakh (ex-showroom) Delhi. The SUV is available only in its petrol version in India at present. Prado combines SUV performance with the luxury of a premium sedan. The SUV comes custom fitted with a 6 CD changer with Audio Sound Leveliser that automatically adjusts the frequency to account for road noise.

 

 


Footwear by Tommy

The Fall 2004 collection from Tommy Hilfiger with over 50 styles across men's and women's categories comprises of fashionable, fun and perfect for all occasions shoes. The shoes in the Fall collection are priced between Rs 1,500 and Rs 8,995 and available at Tommy Hilfiger flagship stores at Delhi, Gurgaon, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Mumbai and at The Loft in Mumbai and Hyderabad.

 

 


Posh Porsche

Porsche Middle East (PME) has launched three models of the Porsche in India in collaboration with Shreyans Motors in Mumbai. The three models are the Porsche 911, The Boxster S and Cayenne S. The Boxster S will be available in India in early 2005. The car would feature a 280 Horsepower, 3.2 litre engine roadster with a maximum speed of 268 km/h, capable of performing from 0 - 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

The Cayenne S has a V8 engine offering 340 bhp with a top speed of 266 km/h and a 0 - 100 km/h dash in 5.6 seconds. A variant of the Cayenne S, the Cayenne Turbo offers 450 bhp. Also available is the 911 Carerra, which has the power to accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds because of its high-powered 3.8 litre engine with a top speed of 293 km/h.

The 911 is priced between Rs. 61 - 71 lakh, the Boxster is priced at Rs 47.1 lakh along with the Cayenne.

Marks & Spencer has introduced Autumn Winter '04 Collection offering the latest in women's and men's wear and lingerie. The casual wear collection in women's wear offer a gentle feminine and retro look in graphic florals and muted stripes coordinated with soft washed denims and fine lambswool in chalky tones of pink and green. (Prices of blouses start from Rs. 950 onwards and trousers from Rs. 1,950). In mens wear, the Blue Harbour Vintage offers a casual range in vintage washed denim garments. (Prices of shirts start from Rs. 1,150 onwards and trousers from Rs. 1,950). The collection is available in all Marks & Spencer stores.

 


Smart Sound

Bose after several years of research has launched their Bose Lifestyle 48 home entertainment systems that allows consumers to store and manage music easily, automatically and without the complications of using a computer or the need to be connected to the Internet. The uMusic system digitally stores an entire music collection, and then learns a user's listening preferences based on likes, dislikes, even moots the need for charts, menus or manually creating and managing playlists. The system stores up to 340 hours of music. As each Cd is stored, the system attaches detailed information to each song from an embedded database. Multiple attributes including genre. This helps the system at playing the right music at the right time.
