Hong Kong Winterfest
The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) launched the third edition of its Hong Kong
WinterFest in Statue Square Central. The mega event is on till January 2, 2005
is aimed at making Hong Kong, the focus of Christmas and New Year celebrations
in Asia. Through this event, HKTB is targeting 2.49 million visitors and is
featuring diverse attractions of world-class performances and activities to
provide an international Christmas experience. A fairytale Santa's Town
has been created in Statue Square, which follows the concept of Lapland and
projects the picturesque atmosphere of a European Christmas with its various
themed settings. The tourism board has also introduced over 100 Hong Kong WinterFest
special packages with exciting tour options, including two harbour night cruises;
the Festive Lights and Open-top Bus Night Tour around the neon-lit
streets of Tsim Sha Tsui and Temple Street Night Market; and the citys
first-ever helicopter night tour.

BPL Mobile - Roaming
BPL Mobile, which claims to have the largest number of roaming partners in
the country, has now increased its partnership from 525 to 534. BPL Mobile will
now offer roaming facility to its subscribers in over 198 countries across the
world. The new additions to BPL Mobile's roaming partners are now Hutch in Punjab
(national roaming) and international players like Cable & Wireless in Jamaica,
ETC in Ethiopia, Digicell in ElSalvador, Celltell in Chad and MTN in Rwanda.
Also for in-roamers, BPL Mobile has a whole gamut of services like city information
services, hotel reservations, movie ticket bookings, reminder services, gifting
flowers, chocolates etc. BPL Mobile has also launched value added services for
in-roamers, that features a unique service Send a Song, among others.
Roamers can call on 565 and can listen to and dedicate songs based on the occasion.
The company has also introduced Voice Portal Service (VPS), wherein an in-roamer
can dial 566 and can browse through the various categories available. Currently,
the services available are news, tunes, cricket score etc. Users simply have
to mention the name of the category to browse through the content.
