The Air Sahara Achievers Cup - Corporate Golf Tournament culminated with the finals on October 30 at Amby Valley, Sahara Lake City, Lonavala. The third edition of the annual Air Sahara Achievers Cup began with four regional rounds played in Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi with a two man team scramble format. Around 70 corporate bigwigs from across the country gathered for the finals, battling it out on the sprawling 256 acres 18-hole, 72 par course. At the end of play, the laurels were bagged by Raja Dhody, managing director, STC Movers and Bittu Mamik, director, Golfscapes Inc. (winner); Dinesh Lal, executive director, Maersk India Ltd and Harinder Sikka, president corporate, Nicholas Piramal India Ltd (first runners up); Jasmeet Singh, director, Pearl Drinks and Sandeep Jhallani, president, Jhallani Forge Pvt Ltd (second runners up). Speaking on the event partnered by Daks of London and Swarovski Ltd, Alok Sharma, executive vice president, Air Sahara said, "We are pleased with the response to the tournament and are excited that Achievers Cup is adding momentum to the development of golf among the corporates in India. With the airline going international, corporate Indian golfers will soon be playing at international golf courses."
