Etihad Airways Launches India Operations
Etihad
Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has launched its
India operations. The first flight between Abu Dhabi and Mumbai took off on
September 26. Etihad currently operates seven flights per week on wide body
A330 aircraft. In addition to Mumbai, Etihad will be adding Delhi to its network
by December 2004, initially with three flights a week to Abu Dhabi. At Etihad,
each customer is welcomed into zones on board the aircraft. Customers are offered
a choice of Diamond Zone, Pearl Zone and Coral Zone on all its Mumbai-Abu Dhabi
flights. Kevin Steele. head of world sales, Etihad Airways said, "Adding
India to our radar within just 10 months of our worldwide launch underlines
our belief that this is is one of the fastest growing markets globally."
