1. Is there a 'Round The World' package offered by Indian tour operators. How many countries would it cover? What would be the approximate cost?
Khatun Meherunissa, Mumbai
Tour operators normally offer packages covering four-five countries or destinations in a specific area, namely USA, Europe, Far East etc. There are no 'Round the World' package being sold in the mass market as such. However, I am sure that any good travel agent would be able to work out an appropriate package designed for your needs.

2. I am visiting Sri Lanka for a week, and want to visit as many places as possible. Would it be advisable to go from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota on the same day? Or is it better to have a stopover at Colombo for the night?
Bhanu Sharma,
Delhi
Travel from Nuwara Eliya to Bentota the same day is not recommended, as the journey would be too long by road. Kandy is a good stopover point.

3. I suffer from sinus and want to go to Iceland. Is it advisable? What are the precautions that need to be taken when going such cold zones?
Prabhunath S Tiwari,
Allahabad
We would recommend that you check with your doctor with regard to the precautions that would be necessary for you.

4. What kind of documentation would I need to go to the south pole? Would I need a visa? Which agency in India would I have to approach?
Amol Bhatlekar,
Pune
I would request you to log on to iexplore.nationalgeographic.com that has different options and details about a tour to the South Pole. The documentation will depend on the tour selected. There are no agencies in India offering specific packages to the South Pole to the best of my knowledge.

5. I do not have relatives in Pakistan but I am still interested in visiting the country. What are the formalities and documentation needed? What is the duration that I could stay there for?
Rajani Shetty,
Bangalore
Presently there are only two kinds of visa given by the Pakistan High Commission for Indian nationals - business visa and family visa. They do not issue tourist visa to Indian nationals

6. I want to do a tour which involves travelling down the Ganges from its origins to where it ends. Which are spots that I can visit? Does any travel agency conduct such holistic tours? Do they charge extra?
Mary D'Souza,
Goa
Himalayan River Runner amongst others conduct tours along the Ganges. Their website is hrrindia.com.

7. How many days would it require to do a tour of Mongolia and what would it cost?
Aadesh Kumar,
Lucknow
If you're travelling on an organised tour you'll probably spend about US$100 a day. You can travel independently for about US$80 a day - a lot less if you share the cost of a private jeep and camp rather than stay in pricier gers (tents). Accommodation and food will cost at least US$10 a day in Ulaan Baatar, but you're better off budgeting closer to double that. In the countryside, allow about US$15 per day if you're using public transport and staying in hotels; if you take a tent and camp, you'll spend closer to US$7 per day.
