The Inn Thing

Aditya Park Inn is a near-perfect business hotel for a city like Hyderabad. Vyas Sivanand checks in

Hyderabad, city of Nizams, is metamorphosing into the modern. Architectural definitions have changed, replacing domes and intricate carvings with sleek steel-bodied structures. Aditya Park Inn, part of the gargantuan Aditya Trade Center, is representative of Hyderabad's transition. The location of the hotel, whose seven floors sport 88 rooms and suites, is perfect – close to the new highway to Mumbai and just three kilometres from the airport.

The stress on luxury is apparent in the Italian marble flooring of the opulent lobby. The rooms are equally plush and user-friendly. Centrally air-conditioned, they have mini-bars, electronic safes which can accommodate laptops, electric kettles, hair dryers and 24-hour internet connection.

There are four categories of rooms - Superior Single, Superior Double, Deluxe Single and Deluxe Double apart from two suites. While the suites are carpeted, the rooms are floored using vitrified tiles. All rooms overlook the city skyline and are adorned with paintings of monuments and events from history.

For a dining option, head to the Promenade, a 24-hour coffee shop cum multi-cuisine restaurant serving Indian, Oriental and Continental cuisine. Housed on the mezzanine floor overlooking the lobby, the restaurant gives a feeling of open space. The 90-cover restaurant primarily serves a buffet during breakfast, lunch and dinner along with its regular a la carte menu. The restaurant also offers a midnight buffet with emphasis on biryanis. In the morning, Promenade has a live counter for dosas.

For a guzzle, the hotel has Harry's, which is the 'lil brother' of Sarovar Park's pub brand Geoffrey's. The pub has 60 covers and is open from 3 pm to midnight. It is designed like a typical English pub, from furniture which resembles the old Chesterfield setup with tanned lambskin leather to the revolving bar stools with backrest.

Banqueting facilities at Aditya Park Inn are not grandiose but sufficient for small corporate conferences. Four halls provide enough scope for meets in a well-equipped environment. The hotel also has a well-equipped gymnasium on the seventh floor with anti-skid rubberised floor called 'neverslip'.

A number of new attractions are promised. Till the 6th floor, the passageway to the rooms have balconies overlooking an upcoming tea lounge which will eventually offer reading facilities along with light snacks. Also, the hotel is going to be completely 'WiFi'ed soon, which means internet connectivity anywhere in the hotel.
