What Women Want…

This certainly isn’t a takeoff on the Mel Gibson Hollywood blockbuster but a simple statement of fact that acknowledges the new breed of women travellers who are traversing the globe with far more frequency than ever before. In a month that also celebrates the International Women’s Day, feBusiness Traveller dedicates its cover story to the new age jet-setting woman traveller who knows exactly what she wants and also knows how to go about getting it. Even if the woman business traveller doesn’t really know what to expect in terms of value-adds, the various travel service providers such as hotels, airlines, credit card companies, etc, have certainly woken up to the potential of this new segment and have spared no effort in incentivising this travel with various conveniences and amenities which are targeted specifically to the lone woman traveller. From specially designed rooms and tailor made services to bonus mileage and various other freebies from all and sundry, the woman business traveller has certainly a lot to look forward to on their future travel agendas. In keeping with our ‘woman traveller theme’, of this issue, we also feature Milan -the fashion capital of the world - in our business city Globe Trot while the U Matter section on healthcare travel tips focuses on skin care for frequent travellers. With an issue dedicated to women travellers, can romance be far off? The answer is an emphatic NO… Venice, arguably one of the most romantic destinations on earth, features as the exotic retreat - a timely reminder that the combination of romance and travel is a concept still very much alive. All in all, it’s an issue that celebrates the emergence of the new age of travel, where the woman traveller is certainly the dark horse. What is interesting though is that along with this new breed that is taking travel seriously, there is the glamour factor that could make business travel an even more exciting proposition!
