Visa Tips
Austria
Austrian Embassy, New Delhi, has effected stringent regulations for visa applications.
With immediate effect the following requirements will be mandatory for visa
processing.
Tourist visa requirements:
1.Covering letter given by the applicant stating the purpose of travel.
2.One photocopy of passport showing pages with entries or stamps / valid visas.
3.Letter from the employer stating the designation, date of employment, salary
per month and leave sanctioned.
4.Employment contract/salary slips for the last three months (if applicable).
5.Original income tax return form (for the past two years only) along with photocopies
of the same.
6.Bank statement(s) of the last three months (original and photocopy of the
passbook with updated entries/printout) including address and telephone number
of the bank.
7. Original medical insurance plus one photocopy
8. Original flight ticket plus one photocopy
9. Original sponsorship documents and corresponding documents of the sponsor
as per the embassy's instructions.
For persons employed/self-employed applying for a business-visa and for persons
self-employed applying for a tourist- or business-visa:
Same documents as mentioned under points 1 to 7.
In addition the following documents have to be submitted:
- Bank statements of the last three months of the company/employer, income
tax return form of the company/employer, certificate of registration of the
company/employer, import/export license of the company/employer (not applicable
for companies known to the embassy)
- In case a package tour is being taken, the complete tour itinerary along
with confirmed hotel booking(s), address, telephone number and e-mail address
of the hotel(s) have to be provided at the time of application
Business visa requirements:
Same documents as mentioned under points 1 to 9.
In addition the invitation from Austria should come directly to the embassy
and a copy should be submitted along with the application.
Applications with incomplete documents will not be accepted and will be returned
at the visa-counter.

Canada
As per a recent notification from the Canadian High Commission
- New Delhi, with effect from January 5, 2004, the revised visa fee will be
as follows.
Temporary Resident Visas (Visitors)
Single entry to Canada Rs 2,600
Multiple entry Rs 5,200
Family rate for either single or multiple entry (all family members must apply
at the same time and place) Rs 13,800
Work Permits
Work permits Rs 5,200
Work permits group of three or more performing artists (this fee is per
person, but the total amount will not exceed $450 in the case of a group of
three or more performing artists and their staff who apply at the same time
and place) Rs 15,500
Study permits Rs 4,300
Fees will be accepted by demand draft drawn in favour of Canadian High
Commission payable at New Delhi.
