Kerala, Taj Among Galileo-ET&T Award Winners

And the award goes to... Each time these words rent the air, a loud applause ensued from the 450 strong crowd present at the first ever Galileo-Express Travel & Tourism Awards held last month at the Maurya Sheraton in Delhi. There were 18 awards given away in seven different categories including hotels, airlines, tour operators, tourism boards, most innovative marketing campaign, best technology practices and editor’s choice. The framework of the awards was put together by an expert panel from the travel and tourism industry and the editorial advisory board of Express Travel and Tourism. While Emirates led the pack bagging two awards in the airlines category, other winners were Singapore Airlines and Jet Airways (domestic), Taj, Sarovar Park Plaza and Orchid (hotel category), Kerala, Goa and DTCM, Dubai (tourism boards category), SITA, Cox & Kings and Thomas Cook (tour operators) and Andhra Pradesh Tourism Board (best technology practices).

The Galileo-Express Travel & Tourism Awards are the first ever non-governmental awards for the Indian travel and tourism industry and were instated to recognise and reward excellence in the industry.
