Hyatt Regency Charms Mumbai
With the launch of Asian Hotels Limited’s (AHL) Hyatt Regency Mumbai, the metropolis now boasts of yet another property offering quality service to the business traveller. Chennai’s Latest Business Address

Hong Kong Warms Up With Winterfest
Hong Kong, Asia’s vibrant events capital, swung into full festive merry-making with the month-long Hong Kong WinterFest, an extravaganza of fun-filled events organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB). An estimated 1.7 million visitors attended, representing a 16 per cent growth compared with the same period last year. According to latest information, more than 170,000 visitors from short-haul markets alone joined special tours, thereby generating important additional tourism receipts for Hong Kong. Visitors enjoyed an unforgettable culinary and festive experience.
Singapore Airlines Adds Arts Channel To Krisworld
Arts aficionados will be delighted with a brand new channel devoted to fine arts programmes on Singapore Airlines' (SIA) inflight entertainment system, KrisWorld. The Arts Channel will feature acclaimed arts performances with a focus on opera, ballet and musicals. The new Arts Channel showcases classical programmes such as Pavarotti and Friends,The Royal Ballet's `The Nutcracker’, `Carmen’ by Bizet, an exclusive screening of the ballet `Don Quixote’ by the late Russian legend. Passengers in all classes to enjoy movies, music CDs and interactive multi-player games on demand.
Taj Group Becomes Delta's Newest SkyMiles Partner
Delta Air Lines has announced that the Taj Hotels, Resorts and Palaces is a partner in its SkyMiles frequent flyer programme. SkyMiles members can now earn 500 miles for each qualifying stay at Taj Luxury and Taj International Hotels and 250 miles for each qualifying stay at the Taj Business and Taj Leisure Hotels. Between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2003, Taj will offer SkyMiles members double miles for qualifying stays at all participating hotels and a `Third Night Free’ at Taj Luxury Hotels and Taj Business Hotels, as part of the partnership launch. "This partnership provides our SkyMiles members with an additional opportunity to earn miles while enjoying superior service and a unique lodging experience when their travels take them to India or other Taj locations," said Christine Pierce, Delta’s director of Partnership Marketing. On the other Taj group vice president, marketing, Jyoti Narang also confirms that the liaison is perfect for both organisations.

China Southern Airlines Pushes Into Global Airline Top 20
China Southern Airlines has announced that it has cracked the 20 million mark of passengers carried for the first time in its history - and is aiming for carrying 30 Million passengers in 2003. As airlines continue to falter and fail around the globe, China Southern Airlines' growth is coming at unprecedented levels.On Monday, December 9, 2002, China Southern Airlines' welcomed the airline's' 20 Millionth passenger ever indicative of the incredible growth of China's largest airline. For more than two decades, China Southern Airlines has been the largest airline in The People's Republic of China in terms of aircraft fleet, extensive network and passenger traffic. China's largest airline has formed an extensive network covering the whole of China and radiating throughout Asia with convenient connections to Australia, Europe, Japan and the United States. During the past decade, China Southern Airlines has grown by four times in size. In 2001, China Southern Airlines surpassed Thai International Airways and moved into the top five in Asia. Globally in Year 2000, China Southern Airlines was ranked as the 24th largest airline in the world and moved to no 21 in 2001. Industry experts predict that the airline will not only be listed within the Top 20 of the largest airlines in the world but most likely end 2002 as the 19th -largest airline in the world - the first mainland Chinese airline to step into this elite group.
