High Flying Kids

“Are we there yet?” will be a phrase of the past on long flights as British Airways has launched the new ‘Skyflyers’ activity pack. Designed and developed with Disney, the new packs are designed to amuse and entertain even the most energetic of young flyers. The younger lot need varied and frequent new activities to keep them amused and entertained. Capitalising on Disney’s vast knowledge and experience of how children interact and respond to different characters and activities, the packs have been developed focusing on two key age groups - 3 to 7 and 8 to 12. For ‘Junior’ flyers, the Winnie the Pooh bag comes packed with plenty to do. The 3 to 7 years olds will receive an exciting activity magazine full of games, colouring and story telling, crayons, an eraser, pencil and topper. Committed to being cool, pre-teens will love the exclusively designed street-cred style Mickey Mouse bag filled with activities to keep them occupied in the air and on the ground.

Cathay Pacific Airways’ (CX) decision to invest in superior product and services, even during the current industry downturn, has been rewarded with the carrier being named Best Airline-Asia in a global poll of more than four million travellers. In the survey, conducted between August 2001 and March 2002 by UK-based consulting firm Skytrax, Cathay Pacific was also voted Best Airline Trans-Pacific and was overall ranked as the number-two airline in the world. Despite the current world recession, Cathay Pacific has stood out from the competition by publicly committing to maintaining the momentum of its product enhancements. Cathay Pacific is the only airline in the world to offer an onboard high-speed data network for in-flight e-mail.

Passengers who will accumulate 10 million miles - the equivalent of roughly 20 round trips to the moon or 2000 US coast to coast round trips - can cash in on the coveted Sub-Orbital Space flight, the first private spacecraft set to take passengers into space in a few years. Two or three US Airways frequent flyers are already nearing the 10 million benchmark, while several corporate accounts already qualify.
