Step Into The Future

Express Business Traveller takes a glimpse of air travel in the 21st Century

Why should I lose touch with people because I’m 55,000 feet above the ground? Why can’t I have a lounge in the sky? Why should I lose sleep due to lack of a fully-flat bed in-flight? These are some of the questions posed by business travellers today who want real sleep, comfort, space, privacy, flexibility and the ability to maximise their time during air travel. Redefining business travel for the 21st Century, British Airways (BA) has introduced a new and revamped First and Club World, where you have plenty of space to rest, relax, eat and sleep. This summer all BA flights will offer passengers greater travel choice than ever before with the introduction of 21st Century Air Travel - a revolutionary range of new products and services.

Sleep On it
Club World is taking business travel to another dimension. BA has introduced a completely new cabin and revolutionary armchair-style seat complete with a footstool. At the touch of a button, your seat transforms into a six foot, fully-flat bed - a first for any business class. So now you can enjoy a proper night’s sleep on-board. If you need to catch up on business, there’s in-seat power for your laptop and your own in-seat phone. Alternatively, simply relax, put your feet up if you wish, and enjoy greater in-flight entertainment choice, a delicious new menu, and the flexibility of your own environment in Club World’s unique ‘lounge in the sky’. To suit business needs, the hand baggage allowance has been doubled to two pieces up to 18 kg total.

Your Personal Air Space
Nothing can quite match the complete privacy of First. Emulating the style and quality of the interior of a Rolls Royce in-flight, BA’s First class boasts revolutionary ‘flying flat beds’ featuring individual cabins with electronically-controlled seats that convert to a six feet six inch bed. Each cabin also features a buddy seat to allow you to hold meetings or sociable dining. Work if you feel inclined with the new built-in power for your laptop and phone, plus a choice of over 45 video titles, and eight continuous programme channels. Featuring a la carte dining, any menu can be ordered at any time during the flight, from five-course meals to light snacks, besides pre-flight meals.

With Club World’s unique ‘lounge in the sky’ and the newly revamped First cabins, you just don’t sleep well, but dream well.
