CALLING INSOMNIACS

As Taj Mahal nurses the insomniacs of Mumbai, Le Meridien promptly comes to the rescue of Bangalorites suffering from the mambo malady, reveals Lakshman V

Aptly christened ‘Insomnia’, this nouvelle cocktail lounge and nightclub at Le Meridien is a premiere in the Silicon Valley and promises to be the hottest spot for the restless riches. Targeted at the creme-de-la-creme of the Bangalore bourgeoisie, Insomnia brings to life unmatched international decor, funky ambience, a never-ending flow of drinks and delicacies, contrasting colours and a spacious dance floor. Enticing its elite audience, the nightspot is promoted by a group of entrepreneurs with international exposure in operating concept restaurants.

While the accent is primarily on steel and pulsating colours, Insomnia’s ambience is conjured up with exquisite furnishings, bar stools and seating arrangements. The nightclub is adorned with the latest gizmos in lighting and music systems enhanced by vibrant colours, that gives it a contemporary look. It features two distinct rectangular divisions one juxtaposed by the other, which makes it quite unusual. The upper division comprises a refined bar, tastefully embellished to give it a classy appeal. Further accentuating the finesse of the interiors are the colourful dome surfaced bar stools.

To whet your appetite, the club showcases the choicest brews and a wide variety of international culinary fare from Thai and Mexican to Continental cuisine. In addition, it maintains exclusivity and style as patrons can exercise the option of spending a quiet evening with a glass of wine or swinging off the stress on the dance floor.

The lower division encompasses the funky looking dance floor, which features vinyl flooring and state-of-the-art lighting systems. It also includes an outdoor area to simply sit, relax and unwind.

“The concept is to provide the upper crust with five-star luxuries unlike other pubs in the city. Plans are afoot to host product launches, fashion shows, seminars etc for select audiences. What’s exciting is that we have evinced a very good response as far as memberships are concerned,” revealed a seemingly excited Suresh Badlaney, general manager, Le Meridien, Bangalore.

Note: Memberships have been categorised into couples, singles and corporates. While the annual membership fee for couples is Rs 20,000, single women are offered membership at Rs 10,000 and, for single men, it is Rs 25,000. The club offers special rates for corporates as well.
